The Job was one of those rare shows that was far ahead of its time. Sarcastic, dark, edgy, it had all the hallmarks that would make it a great show in this day and age. Unfortunately, it aired during the days of Dharma & Greg , Who Wants to Be a Millionaire and According to Jim, and not in the days of Nip/Tuck and Arrested Development. The show starred Denis Leary (of course, why else would this be here), but relied on an ensemble cast including Bill Nunn, Lenny Clarke, Diane Farr (who eventually wound up on the aforementioned Scrubs, ironically enough), Adam Ferrara, and several others.
The show lasted two seasons, succombing ultimately to the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks as well as to the acquisition of ABC by Disney, and the related attempts to make the schedule more "family-friendly". The DVD set of the entire series was released in 2005, and is still available.
